Industries We Serve
Last reviewed: August 2026
SKG Financial goes deep in two industries and works with incorporated owner-managed businesses generally outside them. That is deliberate.
A general practice accountant can file anyone's T2, but the money in small business accounting is not in the return. It is in knowing that an electrician's service van avoids the passenger vehicle cap, that a registered massage therapist charges HST while the physiotherapist beside them does not, and that a med spa gift card is not revenue when sold. Those are different bodies of knowledge, and keeping them current takes real work.
The two lanes
Contractors and trades
Electricians, plumbers, HVAC, renovation, cleaning and general contractors.
T5018 slips, statutory holdbacks, HST timing on progress billings and substantial completion, work in progress, WSIB coverage that catches owners who assume they are exempt, and the subcontractor versus employee test.
Accounting for contractors and trades Lane twoHealth and wellness clinics
Physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, mental health and multi-disciplinary clinics.
Which services are exempt and which are taxable, the fact that exempt revenue blocks input tax credit recovery on rent and equipment, apportionment in mixed clinics, and associate contracts.
Accounting for clinicsMed spas and cosmetic clinics
Injectors, nurse practitioners and physician-owned cosmetic practices. The cosmetic versus medical HST line and the input tax credit apportionment behind it, gift cards, prepaid treatment packages, POS and booking platform reconciliation, and paying associates correctly.
Accounting for med spasGeneral owner-managed corporations
Professional services, e-commerce, transport and property holding companies. Salary versus dividends, shareholder loans, the T2 and the family's T1s prepared together so the numbers match, and instalments that do not surprise you in March.
No industry page, because there is no special body of rules. The work is the same high standard.
Book a callIf you are not in one of the two lanes
We still take on general owner-managed corporations, particularly professional services, e-commerce, transport and property holding companies. The hubs above are where the depth is, not the limit of what we do.
The honest answer is that if your business has a body of industry-specific rules we do not know, we will tell you on the first call rather than learn it on your file.
What is the same across all of them
- Corporate tax (T2) and the owner's personal tax (T1) prepared by the same firm
- GST/HST prepared with the rules that actually apply to your industry
- QuickBooks Online bookkeeping, reconciled and closed monthly or quarterly
- Payroll, T4 and T5
- Fixed fees quoted up front, before the work starts
- A conversation before year end rather than after it
